The Akitano thief
Being apart of the Akitano tribe, Miandra seems rather human aside from the massive maw sticking out from the back of her head just like the rest of her tribe. Coming from a pre-Altres culture which was themed Japanese, Miandra was exposed to a life of work and trying to be spoon-fed the thought of being the perfect wife. Though her family was not granted the best of times, she was born into a poorly thriving family with a litter of six siblings- her being the oldest. With her parents barely able to sustain her, let alone seven children in total, Miandra would set out at the age of six to pickpocket other tribespeople so her family could have more than one loaf of bread. Later on in life, Miandra would grow up to be a known thief as she occasionally robbed from small markets, including those of her family's close friends. Once she was a teenager, Miandra would be a common thief around the tribe and dishonored for what she did to the point she was almost casted out three times. At maturity by the age of twenty, Miandra was allowed to step foot outside her tribe and so she used this to steal from the world instead of her tribe as the values were much greater. Though on her free time, Miandra tends to stay quiet and is a heavy drinker as well as commonly hunt for small prey. Even though majority of the time her maw itself would be the one catching the food instead of her. However, unlike the rest of her species, Miandra seems to have a rare scenario where the host has hardly any control over what the maw does. In these situations, it's all the more possible that the maw may attack others, randomly bite around, eat random objects, and even at times hurt the host themselves. After maturity, she still suffers the problem where she has issues controling the maw on her head though is still able to avoid it biting her at times.
Akitano tribe
The akitano tribe are rather peaceful yet well trained warriors. With their community made up by and old custom, they value honor above all others. With their iconic maws on the back of their heads naturally made for hunting and trapping prey, these people have learned to use them for more than just hunting. Many use them for crafting of fighting as its structure is made of seel opposed to the rest of their rough fleshy skin. As stated, their rough skin makes them quite durable in battle and capable of surviving in intense heat and cold temperatures. The maw itself works as both a defensive system as well as a digestive system. It is more commonly used to rip away at large prey but if a small animal is caught and depending on the size, the maw will either swallow down through an esophagus that leads to the host's stomach or grind it up to bits if the prey is too big. The average height for a female is 5'5 and the average for a male is 6'0 with the males having sharper fangs but smaller maws compared to the females. Strangely enough however, the Akitano tend to lay eggs upon the dozen even though they are considered warm bloody creatures and somtimes carry their young in their maws.
