Mermaid form

 

                        When she is a Mermaid, Shantae can breathe natural air for only five minutes before having to return to the sea before she suffocates. Though five minutes is still long in terms of a Mermaid, it is still not long enough to keep her out and if she uses any energy, it could drain her time on land much sooner. Instead, she swims along the ocean that surrounds the town of Fiminbay when she just wants to relax in the sea. With no predators she needs to defend herself against, she is free to roam with no issues but when needed, she will strike out in defense. Thanks to her razor sharp claws and teeth, Shantae can easily work just as deadly as a horde of pirahnas but in one single entity. This however is rarely used as she usually doesn't deal with many dangers aside from pirates that attempt to rob from her as usual. Even though the diet of most Mermaid's is purely that of sailors, Shantae doesn't feed off of them in this form as she would rather go after smaller fishes. On rare occasions does she target humans but this is normally during a pirate raid or when someone provokes her too much. Even though she is the most docile in this form compared to the others, this doesn't make her any less lethal than the rest. Especially when considering her hauntingly fast swim speed and ability to stay out from the water longer than any other Mermaid.
