Half genie

 

                   Naturally born half a genie, Shantae can be considered just as powerful as a genie regardless of her hybrid status. However, unlike a genie she is unable to grant wishes and instead is tagged as a 'free-genie' who does not have a master and most likely will not have one due to her care-free lifestyle. Being as adventourus as she is childish, Shantae would most likely take things lightly but has a strong disgust to any evil of the world. Because of this, Shantae is highly against any members of the military, especially the Nether as she believes they are the root of all evil. Another piece of hatred she has towards anyone is pirates- having constant issues with them caused her to strongly hate anyone that falls under the category of a pirate or thief. After being abandoned as a child and not knowing her parents, Shantae grew up in the town of Fiminbay where she was given her own island out of fear of her age and the use of her powers with them- most citizens believing a young genie with no parents could cause mass cause. Instead, she grew up a peaceful life with her adoptive Uncle watching over her from time to time. Yet regardless of her nature, her abilities are one that should not be taken lightly. Capable of using a wide variety of spells such as fire and shapeshifting, she can also use her hair as a powerful whip to strike out at enemies violently. Though in order to access her shapeshifting abilities, she must first do a specific dance for each form she has. These dances all consisting of belly dances. In the end, she can shift in and out of these forms at will as long as she performs the correct dance to get into them in the first place. Yet after she does become one, her personality changes entirely depending on which forms she turns into. This means that whatever predation those forms have, it will affect the way she eats as well. She doesn't seem to show regret for doing the things she does in her other forms though she has given herself limits as to what she would do in those situations but sometimes the cravings don't stop and take over. Other times she does just stick to what she normally does. Seeing her in her other forms aren't rare, especially when she wants to show them off or when someone wants to see it.
