Nether guardian

 

                   Strangely enough, this being exists in the sea within the Nether that extends throughout the outer edge of the capital limits. Just outside from the town of Lulexum (home to the many rare resources native to only the Nether), she lives within the ravine that splits between the two lands with the the only connection being a bridge specifically built for transport of these minerals. Though she is an aquatic Lamia, she does have a role- living in such a position would be troublesome without helping in some way. Her role is to guarantee that no thieves are allowed to pass through the sea while valuables are being transported and where constant sentries cannot see these thieves moving across. The bridge is heavily guarded but the Wandering sea has a thick endless mist thanks to the toxic fumes that fill the atmosphere of the Wandering sea, making it difficult to spot any robbers crossing the sea in watercrafts. Misty can smell these rafts passing by, making them easy prey for her and making them less of an issue for the Nether with minimal expense. Being a win, win, situation for both the Nether and Misty, both leave at the end of the day satisfied. Yet, there have been times where people fall into the water from the bridge and thus are eaten by the awaiting monster below. Though most of the time the victims are humans, most native Nether inhabitants  are left unharmed and can safely swim back to shore.
